Mr. Mike Archambault, Principal
Mr. Mike Archambault was named Principal of Rodney E. Thompson Middle School in July 2019, and has been the assistant principal since 2015. Mr. Archambault hails from New York. His undergraduate and master’s work are in Secondary Social Studies and Adolescent Education from SUNY Cortland. He also earned an Educational Specialist degree from Regent University in Administration and School Leadership with a focus on Special Education.
Prior to his arrival at Rodney E. Thompson Middle School, Mr. Archambault taught middle school Civics and Economics with King George County schools.
Mr. Archambault is married and has two young children. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, fishing, listening to live music, and exploring the area’s extensive history.
Mr. Jeff Howard, Assistant Principal
Mr. Jeffrey Howard began his career in Stafford County Public Schools in 1982 as an English teacher at Drew Middle School. In 1991, he was appointed as Assistant Principal at Stafford Middle School, where he served until his appointment as Assistant Principal at Rodney Thompson Middle School in July, 2019. Mr. Howard received his bachelor’s degree from
University of Mary Washington in English and his master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Education.
Mr. Howard is married and has five grown children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, classic movies and television, and his work in the music ministry of his church.
Ms. Jessica Ramey, Assistant Principal
Rodney E. Thompson Middle School is excited to welcome Ms. Jessica Ramey as our new Assistant Principal. Ms. Ramey brings a strong record of leadership, collaboration, and innovation, most recently serving as Assistant Principal at Stafford Middle School. Her work on the Renaissance initiative has had a transformative impact on school culture, and her creativity has brought meaningful programs to life—including a 6th Grade Transition Day Parade, Staff Café, and the Spirit Shield initiative to recognize and celebrate staff contributions.
Ms. Ramey began her career as a mathematics teacher in Prince William and Caroline counties before joining Stafford County Public Schools as a math coach at Shirley Heim Middle School, where she served for five years. She is passionate about building strong relationships and inspiring both students and staff to reach their full potential.
A proud 2003 graduate of North Stafford High School, Ms. Ramey earned her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2007 and her Master’s in Education from the University of Mary Washington in 2009. We are thrilled to welcome her to the RTMS family and look forward to the energy, experience, and leadership she brings to the Jaguar community.
